Spending time in OKC

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am living part time in OKC (from Texas). I am looking for opinions on ranges.

Are there any state ranges nearby ( 100 miles or so).

I have a new Stag Arms AR-15 and I am having a blast with it. I have land in the Tex/OK panhandle but it's 4 hours away..

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I believe the wildlife management area at Lexington has an outdoor range.. I have not been there but I have heard good things.. It might be 45min/ to an hour.. Away also there is a range on the south side of okc .. I'll try to find my paper Monday that has the name and number on it . I think that range is gun and archery..

The range in Lexington requires you to have an OK hunting license.

The range south of OKC in Norman, OK is Tri-Cities and is private.

North of OKC is OKC Gun club. Also private.

The two public ranges are:

West of OKC in El Reno is Canadian Ranges. He has 25, 50 and 100 yard for rifles.

South East of OKC in Pink/Tecumseh is Thunderbird Range. It's run by a retired Marine and is only open Saturdays last time I was there. Great guy. Nice range. My favorite of all.

H&H in OKC allows rifles on their indoor range but I think it's only 35 yards.

I've shot in all these places but Tri-State. I used to live in Norman, OK.
